Hi, I’m Claire!
The Mom and Founder Behind Clarify Sex EducationÂ
Â
I’m so glad you’re here and ready to get to know me a little better! I promise I’m more than just a random lady on the internet asking you to talk to your kids about sex (haha!). I wear a few different hats, but the one I cherish the most is guiding families through the world of sex education.
Meet Claire Tomkinson
The heart behind Clarify Sex Education.
-
My Journey: I started in Charlotte, NC, working with middle schoolers and serving throughout the city. When I began my own family, I wanted a quieter, more peaceful place to raise my kids, so we moved to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. This stunning setting has brought me clarity and inspired me to create something that truly makes a difference for kids and parents.
-
Passion for Teaching: Early in my career, while serving as a middle school youth director, I discovered a passion for teaching sex education. Now, as I raise my kids on our homestead, talking about the birds and the bees feels as natural as planting seeds and welcoming new lambs. We find countless opportunities for real, honest conversations about sex in our everyday lives.
Why I Created Clarify
With over 15 years of experience leading sex education classes and workshops, and nearly 7 years working closely with middle schoolers and their parents, I’ve seen how crucial these discussions are for our kids’ overall well-being. But I get it—starting these conversations can feel daunting and super awkward.
That’s why I created the Clarify Sex Education Series! It’s a friendly, supportive resource designed to educate kids, empower parents, and make “The Talk” way less uncomfortable.
The Importance of Sex Education
-
Addressing a Growing Concern: This issue has plagued our schools and culture for years. With sex education being unregulated in many states—and often not required—parents often worry about whether their kids are getting the right information.
-
Navigating Technology: With technology giving kids access to information earlier than ever, it’s crucial for them to learn about sex from reliable sources. As parents, you have the power to guide your kids to become confident, healthy young adults.
Let’s Transform the Conversation
I want to help you turn what might seem like an uncomfortable task into a rewarding experience for both you and your kids. I’m here to help you find the right words and guidance for those meaningful chats that align with your family’s values.
Talking about sex is super important, but it doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. So, let’s do this together—one open conversation at a time!
