Raising Awareness for Comprehensive Sex Education—One Story at a Time

How did you first learn where babies come from?

Maybe it was a confusing moment in health class, a hushed conversation with friends, or a one-liner from a parent who didn’t quite know what to say. However that moment looked, chances are, it stuck with you—and it may still shape how you feel about sex education today.

This April, I’m inviting parents everywhere to share their own “birds and the bees” stories as part of a movement to raise awareness about the need for better, earlier, and more comprehensive sex education for our kids.

Why Your Story Matters

Our stories are powerful. They shape our beliefs, our comfort levels, and the conversations we have with our children.

By taking just a minute to reflect on how you first learned about sex, you may realize:

  • How incomplete or confusing your early information was

  • How that shaped your understanding of relationships, consent, and boundaries

  • How uncomfortable those conversations still feel—and why that needs to change

  • Even if your story is- no one told me anything- THIS is a great video to share.

When parents share these stories, we spark connection and awareness. We remind each other that we can do better. And we shine a light on the fact that viable sex education is still missing from so many schools and homes.

🎥 Submit Your Story
I’m creating a video compilation of real parents sharing how they first learned about where babies come from—and I want your voice in it.

How to participate:

  1. Record a casual 30–60 second video telling your story (just you and your phone—nothing fancy!).

  2. Email your video to [email protected] or DM it to me on Instagram @clarifysexed

  3. Submit by May 1, 2025

🎁 Win the Clarify Lesson Series
Everyone who submits a video will be entered to win the full Clarify Lesson Series—a powerful tool for guiding your kids through age-appropriate, compassionate sex ed. You can keep it or gift it to someone who needs it. I'll be choosing 3 winners!

Let’s Change the Story Together

We can’t rewrite the past, but we can reshape the future. By reflecting on our own experiences and talking about what we wish we’d known, we can help build a healthier, more informed world for our kids—starting with one story at a time.

Share your story. Raise awareness. Change the narrative.

Great relationships start with good communication.
